Three new music addictions:
SONG: The Killer's "Mr. BrightSide"...am I the only person who can listen to this song on repeat until my ears bleed? I mostly blame the video. Eric Roberts is so creepy that he gives me chills; alernately, this guy sounds emotionally fucked up in a way that would probably make me want to date him. Finally, only after about the 71st listen did I realize that he was saying "Jealousy, turning saints into the seas"...and that the song was not actually about a girl named Josie.
(sigh)
ALBUM: Call & Response's "Winds Take No Shape"...for some reason, when I tried to add this album in my Rock It sidebar, the graphic for "NOW That's Music 11" showed up. So I'll just point out here that this tightly crafted, slightly retro-sounding collection of pop will brighten your winter and have you humming during your morning commute. (Special thanks to the Sausage Queen for this one.)
STATION: Classic Soul Network (iTunes Radio, under 50s/60s Pop)...Luckily, living in New England has surrounded me with people who are even whiter than me, but I still can't do those dance moves where one's head follows one's body in a snakelike groove. This station plays an excellent mix of soul from the 50s, 60, and 70s...although the overuse of the electric organ definitely makes the 1970s offerings a bit harder to take. Check it out, ____ (insert word that actual soul music performer would use to address cool audience members)

Hey,
Thanks for the kind words about my station! I'll try to ease up on the electric organ stuff. ;) Keep on listening and enjoying the music! D. Greene, The Classic Soul Network/Owner
