Got Out The Vote
This week is hectic in the office, which is why I found myself at my local polling location (a fire station) at 7:07 am yesterday morning. The campaigners weren't even out yet...no signs on posts, no flyers, only a letter-sized photocopied sheet with one word taped in the window: "V O T E".
I proceeded inside, filled out my ballot, and this morning found out that my wish came true -- Deval Patrick will become the first African American govenor of MA, and the first Democratic governor in 16 years! Blogorelli admiration for his cleanly run race and cheers to his win.
Finally, secret-underpants-wearing Mitt Romney can return to Utah.
Also very exciting: Democrats reclaim control of the House AND will likely elect its first madam speaker. Could the political composition of our country be changing? That thought is exciting, jjust like my favorite headline from this morning, "Democrats Hold Breaths, Country Turns Blue"!

These are your taxes and cost of living going up.
Thank you,
Deval.

When I moved here, I wondered why the roads and bridges, etc. were in such a state of decomposition.
I wondered how in the hell Cali-fornia, with its huge population, could take care of the infrastructure (well, not all of it- schools were spotty) better than MA which is probably the size of L.A.
I now know: 16 yrs of Republicans & the Big Dig. Hooray for Deval! He seems like a class act.

we are sharing your joy in Ohio today! we also "went blue" and elected the first Democratic govenor in 16 yrs! It's surprising to me that Mass hasn't had a Democratic govenor in 16yrs...I always thought it was a blue state...
