Happy 730th Day, Sweet Boy

THE BBK IS TWO-YEARS OLD TODAY!!!

Sometimes the saying is so true about how, as one grows older, time passes by faster. I still remember that Sunday morning when I received a 7:10 a.m. wake-up call from Bobby Crocker with "the news." Now, it seems like two years has gone by in the blink of an eye...

I still feel bemused, amused, and totally excited every time I see "the boy", just like on day one. Get ready for some awesome gifts from Auntie Titi and Uncle Bink, Linc!

Happily Ever Nacho

The stars must have aligned perfectly on Monday, because that night I also heard the exciting news that Frankie Nacho had proposed to Tracey! (She said yes.) The "ask" happened on the carousel at Nantasket Beach, how New England-y is that?!? Of course, the writing seemed to be on the wall when The Nachos made the Boston.com's Valentine Guide.

The way Frankie announced their betrothal to The Gang was, er, sweet too?

Subject: Tracey is no longer my girlfriend.

Message: As the subject line states; as of tonight, Tracey is no longer my girlfriend…

She's my fiancé.   : )

CONGRATULATIONS, NACHOS!

Howdy, Zoe

Hotly anticipated by family and friends, and even more discussed on her mom's blog, Baby Wag has finally arrived. Only three days past her due date, Zoe Kathleen was born Monday morning around 7 a.m., weight 8 lbs. 9 oz., length 21 inches. Now she can enjoy the NooNoo that The Prof and I sent last week! Zoe also inaugurates the 2008 Summer/Fall crop of Blogorelli babies (up next: Half Pint's boy bump in August, and, in September, my girlhood friend Shannon's gal bump.)

Congrats to Mom, Pop, and Little Lady Wagner!!!

Two Year Milestone

Today marks two years, to the day, that The Prof and I met...
read his sweet recollection.

When I asked Nona if she like The Prof, she replied emphatically, "I LOVE him!"
Me too, little Nona, me too.

Day(s) Away

This afternoon, we saw Mom-orelli off at Logan Airport, and came back to resume "normal" life. Having taken Thursday and Friday on vacation from work, I feel like I haven't sat at my desk in months (which is kind of a great feeling, actually.) As usual, I got so sad saying goodbye to my mom, having her around is always a total treat, both because we are so close and also because she spoils me rotten.

My mom requested a "relaxed" visit this time around, so I only planned one out-of-town jaunt, to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We drove up on Saturday and spent a few hours walking around, seeing the sights, having beer and apps, and enjoying the sunshine. I'd definitely go back to check out the Isles of Shoals, Strawberry Banke Museum, and maybe even stay at the "Grand Dame of the Sea."

All of the photos from our day away here on my Flickr photostream.

Mom-orelli and the Celtics

Just a quick post to announce that my mam is in town. She arrived Sunday night (laaaate due to a 5 hour JetBlue-caused delay) and is hanging out with us for the week. Even though she's only been here for a day, I feel so spoiled having her around.

As for the other topic in the title, The Prof scored last minute seats to game 6 of the NBA finals tonight at the Garden; he is ecstatic. Mom and I will be watching the game at home -- maybe we'll see him!

Catch "yunz" tomorrow...

Here A Kid, There A Kid, Everywhere A Kid Kid

This weekend went by in a blur of activity, and I mostly feel that way because the attendees at our various functions literally were a blur -- kids running around all hysterical and happy.

On Saturday, we drove to Salem for Sir Ivan's fourth birthday party. His parents, Geoff + Roxanne, are usually ahead of the curve and refreshingly open-minded for people with two children, which is maybe how we ended up for playtime and cake in the old cemetery across the street from their house. The kids loved it! And, as Cho pointed out, many of the old burial ground's (ahem) inhabitants would probably be happy to have lively kids running around, throwing balls, picking dandelions, and blowing bubbles instead of the same boring, solemn silence of the past few hundred years.

Sometimes I get a kick out of being the only non-married, childless couple at these events. The Prof drove the point home while talking to one of the papas in the bunch.

"So, do you have a little one here?" he politely asked The Prof.
"Oh yes," Mark replied ever-so-calmly, "She's right over, there eating pizza" and pointed to ME!
Hee hee. I like knowing that we both recognize and understand our roles in this relationship.

After heading to Salem Brew Works for a cold pint and some quiet recovery, we went home to finish preparing dinner for (only four of) The Prof's (many) cousins, who came over to see our apartment and eat a decadent dinner of bbq ribs on the grill, lime + chili peppered corn, salad and other goodies brought by our guests! We also drank a lot of wine, which might explain my headache going into our second experience of the weekend that revolved around children: little Cian's christening! Luckily, none of the kids let loose until after all the babies were full of the Holy Spirit. Bébé O'Meara did great too, no crying, and he didn't even try to drink the holy water like I did at my own christening (according to a story my Nona used to tell.) He also wore a 112-year-old christening gown that has been passed down in Mark's family since his grandmother wore it at her own christening.

Last night, getting ready for the week, I couldn't believe it was already Sunday. Where does the time go?
In keeping with my new resolution to post more fotos using Flickr, here are two sets from the weekend:
Sir Ivan turns 4

Brotherelli in the House

My brother Brandon came into town this weekend to be the best man at his friend Patrick's wedding in Foxboro, so I took today off from work and went MIA in general to spend time with him. We didn't do much except hang out at home for most of the day, have lunch at Pleasant Cafe, dinner at Sophia's Grotto...and I loved every low-key minute of seeing him (especally after my crazy last week in the office)! And yes, he took a 25+ minute shower this morning, but later admitted that he mostly stayed in there that long to get a rise out of moi. Seeing him revitalized my spirit, and he even left The Prof a little"present," in the form of a repeating screen saver Photobooth image (below.)

The Pain and The Great One...truer now than ever. I'll miss yer face around here tomorrow, Bb.
