As part of the Greenway project, a park at the entrance to Chinatown opened almost two years ago (!) about a block away from my office, and I have yet to eat lunch there. Now that the weather seems stable and warm, I plan to brown bag it under the bright red sculpture some time in the next few weeks.

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing women I know who are not only great friends, interesting people, but also truly inspiring Mums! Today was so fun -- Cho, Bobby, and BBK came over to go for a Lilac Sunday walk in the Arboretum. Then we came back to the apartment for our last official cookout at The Pink Palace. I also finally had the chance to give Cho her birthday present, a frame with paper silhouettes that I'd cut out of the whole family ("The Bean," aka baby brother, is depicted as, predictably, a legume)...included in the gift is my promise to update the silhouettes every year for Mother's Day.

Our dining room table is currently the "calm" place in the apartment which is otherwise full of boxes and tufts of cat fur floating about whenever one of us walks through the quickly-emptying rooms. Note our pre-cana certificate -- we "passed!'. I've been meaning to rave about Ramit Sethi's personal finance blog, "I Will Teach You to Be Rich," for months now. He recently released a book, which The Prof bought to read while he travels over the next few weeks. I'd highly recommend reading Ramit's posts, I mean, the one about how to travel full time for less than $14,000/year alone makes the click over worth your time.

Title: Catholicism Made Me Do It

Tonight we had the first part of our pre cana marriage preparation classes, per a promise that made to The Prof's parents. Tomorrow, we'll be in sessions (how appropriate that the name mirrors psychiatric counseling, no?) from 10-4. Hopefully by the end of the day, our worksheets will reveal that Mark and I are fit to wed each other. Above is my husband-to-be carrying the duffle his parents ironically got me for Christmas (ah, how young and idealistic I was then)...the hat, the plaid, the bag; as I said to his mom, "Now I'm, like, a real Bostonian or something!"

We got the keys to our new apartment yesterday, and I promptly put some "stuff" there first thing this morning. My typewriters are always included in the initial car run over to any new place and ceremoniously placed inside...they make me feel at home.

Murf came home tonight and declared that he had possibly just bought his last cd  e v e r . This is a big step for the man who, when I met him, had about 1400 cds filed in multiple racks. (Of course, the last cd would be a live cd.)

Here, the results of dumping out my bag after the bachelorette weekend. I won't even tell you, Inter-net, what is on the end of that fluffy tiara, but will say that I'm glad Mark's younger sister Jenn brought 'the naughty' to our otherwise very classy, well planned (and perfect!) weekend.
